Elgin Clean Water Program

The Elgin Clean Water Program is a rural water quality initiative that provides technical assistance and financial incentives to help landowners embark on stewardship projects. The program was created by four Elgin County Conservation Authorities (Catfish Creek, Kettle Creek, Long Point Region, and Lower Thames Valley).

Watch for School Buses!

Don’t forget to watch for School Buses and obey their overhead flashing lights and Safety Crossing (or Stop) Arms!  Slow down in school zones and watch for children.
Registered owners of vehicles will be charged if their vehicle illegally passes a school bus that is stopped with its red lights flashing.  
 Help keep our children safe.

​Fire Chief Urges Residents to Install Smoke Alarms and Practice Home Fire Escape Plans

The Township of Malahide In the wake of a fatal fire in Brampton, ON on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, the Malahide Fire Service wants to remind the public to make sure that they have working smoke alarms on every storey of their home and outside all sleeping areas, and have practiced a home fire escape plan with everyone in their home.

Malahide Council and Staff Mourn the Passing of Deputy Mayor Wolfe

The Township of Malahide would like to express sincere condolences to the family and friends of Deputy Mayor Mike Wolfe, who passed away on January 30, 2017.
Mike Wolfe was elected as Deputy Mayor of Malahide in the October 2014 Municipal Election, having previously served as Councillor Ward 3 from 2012 to 2014.  The Township flags have been lowered to honour his contributions to our community.  

Garbage Bag Tags

Bag tags may be picked up at the beginning of November at the Township Office: 87 John Street South, Aylmer, during regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday).
Most non-vacant residential properties are eligible to receive an annual allotment of bag tags.  Your final property tax bill for the previous year identifies if your property is eligible to receive the annual allotment. The registered property owner, as identified on the property tax bill, will require photo identification to pick up the tags. 

E-mail of Future Property Tax Bills and Utility Bills

In an effort to become more efficient and effective in the processing of Property Tax Bills and Water Bills, the Township of Malahide is offering residents the opportunity to receive Property Tax Bills and Water Bills by e-mail as opposed to regular mail. There is absolutely no requirement to sign-up for this service. We understand that some residents may not be able to take advantage of this service due to limited connectivity.
