Community Facilities

The Township has a range of facilities to suit different needs for all people.  From recreational parks to arenas to hall rentals, we have it.  Please view below.

Malahide Community Place

Malahide Community Place provides a community recreation and banquet hall, a spacious and impressive catering kitchen, a meeting room, the Gary Barat Pavilion, two lighted baseball diamonds, a concession facility, and the home of the Springfield Public Library. There is plentiful free parking that features a horse shelter in the northeast corner. Nestled behind the building is a scenic green space with a newly installed playground and a leisurely walking track.
The community centre will serve as the Township's Emergency Shelter and has also been designated as the Cooling Centre for residents during summertime Heat Alerts issued by the St. Thomas Elgin Public Health.
The Community Services Department has an office located at Malahide Community Place. Office Hours: Weekdays from 9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. For questions regarding Malahide Community Place and South Dorchester Community Hall, please call the Community Services Department office and speak with Chris Cox, Community Services Coordinator. His phone number is (519) 765-4755; or send him an email - chriscox@malahide.ca
