Whether you're looking to obtain a Dog Licence or wanting to report an animal at large, we have a number of resources available.

Animal Cruelty & Welfare

For Animal Cruelty & Welfare concerns, please contact 1-833-926-4625.  Effective January 1, 2020, the Provincial Animal Welfare Services (PAWS) Act came into force, creating the first fully provincial government-based animal welfare enforcement system in Canada. Ontario now has the strongest penalties in Canada for people who violate animal welfare laws.  The Province has established a toll-free number, 1-833-9-ANIMAL (264625) for people to report concerns about animal distress or abuse. This Call Centre is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Dog Control

Dogs within Malahide Township are required to be licenced annually.  Please view the dog licencing page for process details.

Missing or Stray Dogs

If your dog is missing or if you have a stray dog at your residence, please email or call the Hillside Kennels Animal Control at 519-469-3247. You can report your dog missing and inquire if your dog is at the facility.

Cat Licences

The Township of Malahide does not issue cat licences.

Wildlife

If you find an orphaned, injured, ill, or displaced animal or bird, please contact an Authorized Wildlife Rehabilitator in your area. They are volunteers, trained in dealing with wildlife conflicts. They can offer humane alternatives and can assist you on whether intervention is necessary. They are not a removal service.
