The Township of Malahide’s Fire & Emergency Services Department hires staff in the volunteer division.  This process is typically conducted annually on or about in October.  At that time, Malahide Fire Department hosts an Open House which is an interactive demonstration of operating a hose, using auto extrication tools, and rope rescue techniques.  Advertising for this Open House will be posted here as well as our Facebook page.

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for a career as a Malahide Volunteer Firefighter, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a resident of the community to which a fire station responds
  • Be at least 18 years of age

Our ideal firefighter will have a strong desire to serve their community, value integrity and honesty, and demonstrate pride in being efficient, reliable and accountable.

Although the recruitment process is only completed once a year on or about in November (after the Open House in October), applications are accepted at any point in the year. Please review the Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Information Package and if interested fill out an application online.
