New Ontario Fire Code Requirements for CO Alarms

Effective January 1, 2026

Attention Ontario homeowners!

Starting in 2026, carbon monoxide (CO) alarms will be required on every storey of your home, even storeys without sleeping areas.

This important update helps keep you and your family safe from the dangers of CO exposure. Make sure your home is ready!
