Starting January 1, 2026, the way recycling is collected in the Township of Malahide and across Ontario will change. 

This will NOT affect residential households, but does impact businesses, industrial, commercial and institutional properties.

The Township of Malahide office will be closed for the holidays from Wednesday December 24th at 12:00pm and reopening on Friday January 2nd at 8:30am.

* Building Inspections will resume on Monday January 5th.

* For any after hours Road Emergencies, please call: 519-435-6498. 

Please note that garbage and recycling pick-up over the holidays will be changed as follows:

CHRISTMAS DAY:  If your regular garbage and blue box pickup is on Thursday, December 25 – it will be picked up on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

NEW YEARS DAY:  If your regular garbage and blue box pickup is on Thursday, January 1 – it will be picked up on Saturday, January 3, 2026.

CHRISTMAS TREE DROP OFF: - During the final week of the year Christmas trees can be dropped off at Malahide Community Place...

2026 Garbage Bag Tags have been mailed out!

Tags no longer expire so you can use any leftover tags from this year.

The 2026 Collection Schedule is also available, come by the office to pick one up or request one to be mailed to you HERE.
