We are pleased to acknowledge the Province of Ontario’s support for the Port Burwell Area Secondary Water Supply System (PBASWSS) Rehabilitation Project. This critical infrastructure initiative will replace and modernize high‑risk components of the jointly owned regional water transmission system, including approximately 7 kilometres of PVC watermain and sections of the original pipeline, along with key system upgrades to provide continuous safe potable water supply to residents, improve pressure, system reliability, enhance fire protection, and long‑term performance.
We are grateful for the Province’s commitment of up to $15,330,000 toward eligible costs for this $21,000,000 project shared between Bayham, Malahide, and Central Elgin, helping to advance this major capital project that supports over 3,000 residents across Malahide, Central Elgin, and Bayham. These improvements will strengthen water quality, enhance fire protection capacity, and reduce the likelihood of system failures in environmentally sensitive and developed areas.
Thank you to the Ministry of Infrastructure and all partners involved for supporting this essential investment in the future resilience of our communities.
