2021 Dog Tags will be mailed |
Dog tags have been issued via invoice to all dog owners in our system. The amount owing along with the due date will be noted on the invoice.
The due date for payment of your tags will be March 31, 2021. If you have not paid for, or purchased your dog tag, by March 31, the fees are increased by $33.00 per tag. Payments may be mailed to the Township Office or paid online (Malahide Township General or Miscellaneous payee not your tax/water/sewer account).
Please note that the Township is changing the type of dog tag that is issued. In 2021, there will be a shift to a ‘permanent/lifetime’ dog tag. This means that annual tags would not have to be sent to dog owners every year. In future years, dog owners will be mailed an invoice to pay the annual license fee, but no new tag will be sent. In the event that a tag is lost or damaged, a replacement tag would be provided to the dog owner.
If you have a new dog or do not receive an invoice, please contact the Township Office at your earliest convenience to obtain your dog tag. |
Garbage & Recycling Collection |
Garbage and recycling collection continues as regularly scheduled. There are a number of actions that you can take to help collectors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For all other inquiries, please contact the Public Works Coordinator at 519-773-5344 ext. 232. |
Open Air Burning |
Under the current declaration of a State of Emergency in Malahide Township, Open Air Burn permits for farm properties continue to be issued throughout the Township. Please ensure that you are strictly complying with the terms of your Permit to ensure that our staff are not unnecessarily called upon to respond. Our volunteer firefighters not only respond to fire, but to medical emergencies as well. If they are responding to a burn complaint they may not be available to respond to someone in need as a result of COVID-19.
Without a permit, you may have a recreational fire, no larger than 2 feet square. The smoke from your fire may not travel across a roadway or annoy your neighbour. The fire must be supervised at all times and have a source of extinguishment close at hand.
Call the Township Office for your Burn Permit at 519-773-5344 ext. 241. |
Purchasing Additional Garbage Bag Tags |
Additional tags can be purchased for $1.50/tag. Additional tags can be purchased at the Township Office during regular business hours as the foyer of the building is open and a staff member can assist you.
If you have not already received your annual garbage bag tag allotment in the mail, please call the Township Office at 519-773-5344 ext. 221 and the tags will be mailed to you. |
