Development Charges are fees that are paid by new development upon the issuance of a building permit to fund capital infrastructure required to support new developments in the Township.

Development Charges Background Study

The Township conducts a development charge background study every five years to forecast the Township's future residential and non-residential growth to determine infrastructure needs and costs.  A Background Study for Development Charges study was conducted in 2021.  The information is used to calculate the amount of money that new development needs to pay in order to cover new infrastructure and services. The study recommendations were passed by By-law 21-63 and  a development charge pamphlet summarizes the township's policy with respect to development charges.
